Austin, Texas
Mid-Century Modern Infill
Single-family · Subchapter F

Overview
Mid-century clarity runs through the design—horizontal emphasis, intentional window banding, a roof that feels light while still playing nicely with compatibility.
Challenge
Neighborhood expectations and compatibility standards can push infill toward familiar historic tropes; here the goal was a clearly modern house that still met the letter and intent of review.
Design response
Facade modulation and material changes were used to create human scale and shadow—supporting compatibility goals while keeping the architectural language contemporary.
