Wells Barn
A restoration and stabilization proposal for a historic Wells barn, adapting an existing residence for Airbnb stays near Scottsville, New York.
Outside Scottsville, near Rochester, this Wells barn was already used as a residence on a property that was no longer a working farm. The owners wanted to restore and stabilize it, then adapt it for Airbnb stays.
The design
The proposed use would let guests spend time beneath the historic timber framing and experience western New York’s regional building history through a place they temporarily call home.
